President’s message: Serve Pakistan selflessly

Mamnoon calls upon nation to resolve to make up for past lapses,

ISLAMABAD (PR): President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the nation to resolve to make up for the past lapses and pledge ourselves to purge our society of the evils the Quaid exhorted us to root out from our midst and serve Pakistan selflessly. This alone can ensure our survival as a great nation and this is how we can pay the greatest tribute to our great Quaid.

In a message on the death anniversary of the Father of the nation, the President said as we pay homage today to the memory of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, it is most befitting that we recall the qualities which he exemplified in his life time.

He said Quaid-i-Azam possessed a high degree of uprightness, honesty, integrity, courage and conviction. He never compromised on his principles nor allowed expediency to influence his judgments. His conduct was above reproach and his integrity unquestioned as is universally acknowledged. These pre-eminent attributes endowed him with clarity of vision and steadfastness that enabled him to withstand heavy odds and carve an independent state for the Muslims of the sub-continent

The President said today is the day of reflection, we need to pause and reflect as to how far we have succeeded in pursuing the path shown by our Quaid. Equally important is to ponder over our shortcomings and failures, he added.
