ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Global Rohingya Center (GRC) led by its president Abdullah Maroof witnessed Senate session on Friday and met Leader of the House in the Senate Raja Muhammad Zafar-ul-Haq.
The members of the delegation expressed their gratitude to the Pakistani leadership for not only passing unanimous resolution against the genocide of Rohingya Muslims in Burma but also for involving the whole nation in their grief.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Member of the GRC board Tayeb Bin Mushrif Al-Jammal were also present in the meeting. They praised the detailed speech made by Raja Zafar-ul-Haq on the resolution and said that the historical aspects mentioned by him have significant value for the issue.
All the attendants of the meeting agreed that this is a battle of ideas and the Rohingya community and hence the whole Muslim Ummah has to act very strongly in order to address the issue at international forums including UN.
Senator Raja Zafar-ul-Haq asked Mr Abdullah Maroof to enhance the working of GRC and asked for more frequent writing on the cause in multi-languages so that the problem reaches to maximum people possible. Mr Maroof told the Senators that the forum is in formative phase and continuous efforts will make it stronger.
Both Senators assured the members of the delegation of continuous support from Pakistan to the fellow brothers and asked to remain in contact over major ongoing developments. The members of the delegation acknowledged the efforts Pakistan is putting for the cause.
