ISLAMABAD, (INP): The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in collaboration with International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) will provide support to 200 families displaced by Indian firing at Charwah sector,in Sialkot.
This was told by PRCS Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi while talking to a group of journalists after his visit to the area. Dr Saeed Elahi said that during his visit to the area that he held meeting with District Coordination Officer and notables where he was briefed about the plights of the displaced families.
He said that the families will be provided relief items and necessary medical care. He said that the Red Crescent stands with the affected families and will fully support the victims within available resources.
The Chairman said that the PRCS in collaboration with local administration, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Sialkot Bar Council and others will set up a district response team to effectively respond to any mishap in the district. The PRCS will also provide first aid training at the district level under its programme “First Aider at every Home”.
Dr Saeed Elahi, during his visit also held a meeting with Dr Sarfraz Bashir, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industries. The PRCS Secretary General Dr Mahboob Sardar gave a detailed presentation about the PRCS activities and its future initiatives.
The SCCI President assured full support to the PRCS in its activities and the chamber members showed full interest in the PRCS activities and stressed the need for awareness about the Red Crescent activities in general public.
