KARACHI: Former Secretary General Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh Nafees Siddiqui on Monday called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and announced to join PTI.
The PPP leader’s meeting with PTI chief was held at MNA Arif Alvi’s residence in Karachi.
During the meeting, Siddiqui reposed confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan and announced to join PTI.
Siddiqui was not active in the party for quite some time and was not in good terms with the incumbent PPP leadership especially with Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
In 2011 he had announced to leave PPP citing the then PPP-led government’s failure to apprehend party chairperson Benazir Bhutto’s killers.
Though he announced to leave PPP, but did not join any other party. In 2012, he rejoined PPP, but was not very active in party and politics of the country since then.
