KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to appoint former minister Sherry Rehman as senator from Sindh, replacing her with Latif Ansari.
According to sources, Latif Ansari has resigned from Senate post on the directives of PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari.
Chairman Senator Raza Rabbani has approved Ansari’s resignation.
Sources further told that decision to appoint Sherry Rehman, the senior PPP leader, as senator was taken in March this year but she could not contest the Senator’s election till completion of two years since she resigned from the post of Ambassador to US.
