From Karachi to Islamabad, where the “biggest ever protest march in the country’s history will lead to the end of unjust rule of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government and herald a new beginning for Pakistan”.
Riding on motorbikes, cars and other modes of transportation, the PPP activists began their journey from Bilawal House in Clifton and drove through different roads and busy Saddar streets to culminate at Mazar-i-Quaid, where the party leaders addressed a charged gathering of workers.
PPP’s awami long march heads to Hyderabad Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Monday resumed its Awami Long March to Islamabad after a night stay in Tando Muhamamd Khan.
On Sunday, PPP began its ‘Awami Long March’ headed by the party’s chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from the Quaid’s mausoleum and stayed Tando Muhammad Khan after marching via Malir to Badin.
Addressing the participants of the march, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the PPP long march was accorded a warm welcome during its route and he thanked the masses for the overwhelming support.
People are facing the worst economic situation due to wrong policies of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf PTI government, Bilawal alleged, adding the common man is drowning in Tsumani.
The Awami Long March will now head to Hyderabad, where Bilawal Bhutto will address the participants in Garibabad. The preparations are underway in full swing in Hyderabad and the businesses have been asked to remain close in the Garibabad area today.
A large number of police and traffic cops have reached the area and the area is being sealed with barbwires and tents.
The PPP’s long march will pass 34 major cities of the country will reach the federal capital Islamabad in 10 days.
The reception camps have been arranged at the National Highway and along with several cities of the route of the march as party workers supervise the security of the long march.
Dancing on the tunes of party songs and chanting slogans against the PTI government, the workers took more than two hours to complete the journey and called it just a ‘trailer’ of the upcoming ‘massive public movement’ being launched against Prime Minister Imran Khan and his government.
“This massive public movement is in fact a reflection of public sentiments against the selected government of Imran Khan which has made lives of the common man miserable. The people are so fed up with them that they cannot tolerate this unjust government for a day any more.
The economy has collapsed and the country is facing isolation on diplomatic front. It’s now a matter of survival of a common and the country.”
If the opposition parties fail to win over the PML-Q, they will have to depend on a rebellion from within the PTI, with dissenters agreeing to resign from the Assembly or vote with them — again at the cost of their seats.
Hence, the success of the vote of no-confidence largely depends on which side the PML-Q and other PTI allies throw their weight
