LAHORE: The prominent political personalities on Thursday wished the nation on 77th Pakistan Day and prayed for the development of the country. According to details, the celebrations of Pakistan Day were begun with traditional zeal and enthusiasm to mark Lahore Resolution that led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of South Asia in 1947.
The leaders took to social networking site Twitter and posted their messages on the ocassion of Youm-e-Pakistan. In connection with Pakistan Day, Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif shared a picture with his granddaughters.
Maryam Nawaz also showed her loyalty with the country and wrote ‘Mera Emaan Pakistan’. Spokesman of ministry of foreign affairs Nafees Zakaria said thank you to the Pakistan movement leaders and those who sacrificed their lives for the creation of homeland. Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan gave message for the youth to raise their voices against injustice. PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi also updated his Twister post and expressed love for the motherland. PTI’s Shafqat Mahmood said that Pakistan Day is a day to remember the efforts of ancestors in freedom movement. NNI
