RAWALPINDI – The police have unfolded the mystery of blind murder case of a woman Shabana Malik and arrested the main accused along with four of his other accomplices, sources revealed here on Tuesday.
Sources said that police have nabbed the main accused and four of his accomplices, which he hired after paying money, during raids from Siham and Chuhur, the areas of Police Station Westridge. However, the two other culprits were still at large and police were making hectic efforts to net them.
Sources said that taking action CPO Rawalpindi formed a special police team to arrest the killer of Shabana Malik. After hectic efforts, the police team led by SHO PS Westrige Malik Tahir managed to arrest the main accused from Siham and four of his accomplices including the one who shot and dead the lady at her doorstep from Chuhur.
Shabana Malik, wife of a private contractor and a lady health visitor by profession, was killed by an unknown assailant on September 5, 2014 at her house located at Cannt View housing society at Range Road. Earlier, unknown armed men also attacked her at Girja Road on July 14, 2014 when she was waiting for a van to reach her office at Moorat, a suburb of Fateh Jang. In this attack, Shabana survived despite sustaining five multiple bullet injuries.
A Sub Inspector (SI), who spoken with this scribe on condition of anonymity, confirmed the arrest of five men in connection with murder case. He said that the main accused used two different groups to kill the lady. The first group of culprits tried to take life of Shabana in Girja but she survived. Then again a killer was sent to her home who remained succeeded in killing the lady. He said that two other culprits were yet to be arrested.
