ISLAMABAD, Nov 29 (DNA):Aijaz Chaudhary, a Member of National Assembly from ruling Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), has decided to switch sides and join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after resigning as MNA.
Chaudhary was elected as an independent candidate from NA-108 Mandi Bahauddin in May 2013 general elections. After winning the election, he joined Pakistan Muslim League-N but now he has decided to join PTI.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan met Ijaz Chaudhry in Islamabad at his residence before he formally announced to join PTI before the media. Jahangir Tareen and other PTI leaders were also present at the event.
Talking to the media Saturday, Ijaz Chaudhry thanked people for electing him as MNA adding that he sincerely tried to help his district.
Ejaz Chaudhry said he had objections and reservations over PML-N’s policies and stated that Nawaz League was unable to steer Pakistan out of crisis.
He said Mandi Bahauddin faced the worst catastrophic flood and that he was not being able to deliver and meet the expectations of the people of his district. He further said that people of Mandi Bahauddin expect to be given rights equal to Lahore.
Chaudhry vowed to put all his efforts for country’s progress adhering to the vision of PTI.
Imran Khan said Ijaz Chaudhry would address people from his container today (Saturday).
He said that local bodies system is the way to ensure distribution of equal rights among all districts and cities refraining rulers from making money.
Government has no care for the poor and is busy pleasing prominent individuals and businessmen. Earlier in his address, Imran Khan had claimed that one of PML-N’s major wickets is expected to fall soon.
Ijaz Chaudhry contested election 2013 as an independent candidate from constituency NA-108 of Mandi Bahauddin and later joined PML-N. Adhering to the vision of PTI, he would conduct a press conference and formally make the announcement. DNA
