ISLAMABAD (NNI): Former chief of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Martial (Retd) Shahid Latif has accused that implementation of article 245 was to defend Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) not the forces, combating in Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA).

Talking to a local private television with a private news channel, Shahid Latif has said that military had demanded the shelter of article 245 back in June for the ongoing operation in FATA but the government delayed its implementation.

Latif has said that to avoid unnecessary delays during FATA operation, besides facing petition mafia, were the main causes behind the demand of article 245 shelter.

“Sudden implementation of article 245 in Islamabad area is to defend the government from protestors (PTI and PAT).”

PML-N is totally responsible for the ongoing political situation as the government fail to address the demands of PTI, he added.

He said that internal and external security is the responsibility of Pakistani Military, any coop is possible, if the political situation went uncontrollable in the country as PTI and PAT have many due demands.

“There is no need of current movements in Pakistan, if the PML-N government had delivered something positive and tackled the situation responsibly.”

He said, “Model Town incident and neglecting PTI’s demands throughout the previous year are the basic reason behind current unrest.”
