Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked Iran for supporting Pakistan during the Indian tension and announced its support for Iran’s nuclear program.
While holding a joint press conference with Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga in Tehran, the Prime Minister said that I consider Iran my second home, and I am very happy to visit here.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Iran have long-standing, cultural and historical relations, we have decided to deepen these relations and through cooperation in various fields, we will further strengthen the relations.
The Prime Minister said that constructive and fruitful talks were held with the Iranian President. The Iranian President expressed his concerns over the tension in South Asia. The Iranian Ambassador maintained constant contact, for which I am grateful. Iran expressed its concern for Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan showed restraint in this conflict and then our armed forces responded forcefully with the support of the nation. The Prime Minister made it clear that Pakistan is keen on peace and wants to resolve issues through dialogue. We want a solution to occupied Kashmir in accordance with UN resolutions and Lok Sabha resolutions.
He said that we want to have serious talks with India for peace, water issues, trade and counter-terrorism. If India attacks again, then we will fully defend our country.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan expresses solidarity with the people of Gaza. 54,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been martyred due to Israeli brutality. The international community should now play its role on the Gaza issue and bring about a ceasefire.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that Pakistan stands with the brothers and sisters of Iran. We reiterate our full support for Iran and support Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
We welcome the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, Iranian President
On the other hand, the Iranian President said that Pakistan and Iran have long-standing relations and we welcome the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, and we demand that both countries resolve their differences and issues through dialogue.
He said that both countries should dialogue for the sake of regional peace. The Iranian President said that we strongly condemn the atrocities in Palestine, Iran and Pakistan are OIC member countries that jointly condemn the atrocities in Gaza.
He said that all Western countries are enjoying this situation by remaining silent and their behavior is highly condemnable. The Iranian President thanked the Prime Minister and the Pakistani delegation for their visit.
