PM to make appointments of Naval Chief, ISI DG

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would make the key appointments of Naval Chief and Director General ISI before proceeding to New York to address the UN General Assembly.

Highly placed sources said on Saturday that the names under consideration for the 20th Naval Chief include Vice Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah, Commander Karachi Fleet, Vice Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbas and others.

Naval Chief Admiral Asif Sandheela is due to retire on 7th October after completing his tenure.

The ISI Chief Lt General Zaheerul Islam Abbasi is also due for retirement next month. The sources said that the COAS has sent the name of three army officers for appointment as ISI Chief. INP
