PM to convene APC to stop horse trading in Senate elections

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday asked the two Committees formed to contact political parties to enhance their interaction so that procedures necessary for stopping horse trading can be agreed upon before the upcoming Senate elections, including a constitutional amendment, if required.

Members of the two committees formed for contacting different political parties for ensuring transparency in Senate elections and discouraging horse trading met the Prime at the PM House here and presented their reports.

The Prime Minister on the occasion said he himself will also contact heads of political parties in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Finance, Mr. Ishaq Dar; Minister for Information, Mr. Pervaiz Rashid; Minister for Planning, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal; Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique; Governor Khyber Pakhtunhwa, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan; Minister of State for IT, Ms. Anusha Rahman; Minister of State for Petroleum, Jam Kamal Khan and Special Assistants to PM Khawaja Zaheer Ahmad and Barrister Zafarullah Khan.
