ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has vowed to take legal action against PTI Chairman Imran Khan for his “anti-state” speech during a rally in Abbotabad held on Sunday.
The premier on Sunday termed Imran’s speech “a conspiracy against Pakistan”.
In a statement issued on PML-N’s official Twitter account, the prime minister said those concocting a narrative against national institutions were the real “Mir Jaffars and Mir Sadiqs”.
Referring to Imran Khan’s speech during a rally in Abbottabad, the premier said that the state of Pakistan, the Constitution, and national institutions were challenged today, therefore, legal action will be taken against the PTI chairman.

The premier, in the statement, further added that Imran Khan is not conspiring in politics, but he is hatching a conspiracy against Pakistan.
“Pakistan cannot be sacrificed on the basis of the ego, arrogance, and lies of one person. First, Imran Niazi conspired to drown Pakistan’s economy and now he is trying to trigger a civil war,” the statement said. “The government will crush Imran Niazi’s conspiracy to cause a civil war in the country”.
The prime minister added that “Imran Niazi is the Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq of today who wanted Pakistan to face the same fate as Libya and Iraq.”
He further said that Imran was “biting the same hand that fed him”.
“The 220 million people of Pakistan, the Constitution, and the national institutions are not slaves to one person’s ego. Imran Niazi wants to enslave the masses, but we will not allow him to become the Hitler of Pakistan,” the statement said.
“Imran Niazi lied a lot, but now he has to face the truth.”
Defamatory, provocative statements against army extremely damaging: ISPR
The Pakistan Armed Forces condemned the spread of “unsubstantiated, defamatory, and provocative statements and remarks” against them and termed the practice “extremely damaging”.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “intensified and deliberate attempts” have recently been made to drag Pakistan Armed Forces and their leadership into the ongoing political discourse in the country.”
“These attempts are manifest through direct, insinuated, or nuanced references to the armed forces as well as their senior leadership, made by some political leaders, a few journalists and analysts on public forums and various communication platforms, including social media”.
Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) also warned all expatriates of Pakistani origin that their names can be put on the Exit Control List if they put up “offensive and seditious” social media posts that may lead to chaos in Pakistan.
“All Pakistani origin expatriates living outside Pakistan are advised to desist from spreading chaos in Pakistan while staying abroad. Their social media posts must not be offensive and seditious,” the FIA spokesperson said in a statement.
The agency directed the expatriates to read the “Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA)” to make sure that their social media posts “do not constitute any offence”.
