Wajihuddin said that when the matter was taken up in Supreme Court, former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that I have twenty thousand cases to deal with; I can either sort these cases or look into the matter of rigging and opening of four constituencies. Speaking of the defamation case of Imran Khan he said that Hamid Khan fought all the cases of PTI without taking a single rupee, he added that it was Hamid Khan who lead the lawyer’s movement during the Musharraf era. Wajihuddin said that the draft which was prepared by us resulted in the dismissal of case against the PTI chief and there was no apology in that draft. Responding to a question on the role of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry in the alleged rigging in 2013 elections, Wajihuddin said that I cannot say whether the former Chief Justice was involved in any way in rigging of 2013 elections. He however added that PTI Chief Imran Khan was certain that Iftikhar Chaudhry was involved in rigging and used to say that look what Iftikhar Chaudhry has done with us. Wajihuddin also said that it was a wrong move on party of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to meet the returning officers two days before the election took place. Commenting on the announcement of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to form his own political party, Wajihuddin said that there is a certain age by which you can successfully run a political party, he said that the former Chief Justice is already 66-years old and it would be difficult for him to manage a party. He also revealed that there was a time when the former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was the favorite person of PTI chief Imran Khan. Responding to Sardar Khan Niazi’s question regarding the infighting in PTI, Wajihuddin said that if the matters are resolved within the party no one will wash their dirty linen in public. He said that those who managed to appease Former President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf and Nawaz Sharif can also do the same with Imran Khan. He said that these people know how to be in the good books of a certain person and are very good at it. He said that PTI should have fought 2013 election with people who have stood by their principles, including the people who used to hang around Musharraf cost the party in the elections. Wajihuddin added that Imran is very quick to form an opinion on merely hearsay which causes lot of problems. He however commented that Imran Khan is an honest and clean man. Commenting on former PTI president Javed Hashmi, Wajihuddin said that Hashmi is a seasoned professional and I personally respect him a lot and it would have been good had he remained in the party. He also added that if Imran keeps good people in the party the ruling party will not be able to counter his popularity no matter what they do. Speaking on the relation between the Army and the ruling party and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Wajihuddin said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not comfortable with the Army. He also advised Nawaz Sharif to learn from his previous mistakes regarding relation with the Army. Wajihuddin said that he believes that the Government wants to put Army on the back foot, he said that this is not the first time PMLN will try doing something like this, they are known to do this for long. He said the PMLN paid for this blunder of pushing army on the back foot in the form of takeover by General retired Pervez Musharraf. Commenting on the allegations on former Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) General Ahmad Shuja Pasha that he orchestrated the sit-ins last year, Wajihuddin said that General Ahmed Shuja Pasha has already called for an inquiry into the matter if people believe that he was involved in any such thing. Wajihuddin said that speaking on hearsay is not a good idea and PTI made a mistake by raising the issue of 35 punctures during the sit-ins. He also said that one should consider his words before speaking. Commenting on the decision of Judicial Commission, Wajihuddin said that weaknesses of PTI also played a role in the decision of the judicial commission. He said that there is no burden of proof of anyone in an inquiry commission. He further added that those who orchestrate a conspiracy don’t leave any traces. He said that during the finalization of terms of reference of the judicial commission it should have been mentioned that it was an inquiry commission. Wajihuddin lamented that Imran Khan has been surrounded by deserters from the Pakistan Muslim League Q which is seriously harming the credibility of the party.
