ISLAMABAD (INP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday directed the Ministries of Water and power and Petroleum and Natural Resources to fast track the implementation process of power projects, keeping in view the hardship being faced by the people, while upholding high standards of transparency.
The Prime Minister gave the direction while chairing a high-level meeting at the PM’s House here to review progress on ongoing power projects.
He stressed that focus should be on both availability and affordability of power for the people of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister was briefed about the status of ongoing projects in various parts of the country and the likely availability of power in the coming months. He was also apprised of the completion timelines of coal and gas based projects.
Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif; Federal Minister for Petroleum, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi; Special Assistant to PM, Musadiq Malik and Secretary to PM, Javaid Aslam attended the meeting.
