PIA airlifts 35,000 Haj pilgrims on time

Two officers promoted to “Group-VII”, another transferred

KARACHI (PR): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has promoted two of its officers to “Group-VII” and transferred another official.

According to a notification issued by the PIA administration, Abdul Rehman of Group-VI was promoted as Assistant Manager Reservation and Ticketing and PSO Bilal Afzal was promoted as Assistant Manager Passenger Sales. Riaz Ahmed was transferred to Kabul, Afghanistan as Finance Manager.

Abdul Rehman is one of the most vigilant officers of PIA who has got several promotions in least time and he has also served as Acting Ticketing Manager PIA.

Meanwhile, PIA till 24th day (Sunday) has transported more than 35,000 intending pilgrims from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia through 86 Pre-Hajj flights and regular scheduled flights.

According to details, PIA has carried 3,982 intending pilgrims from Karachi to Saudi Arabia through 12 flights, 5,190 from Lahore through 12 flights, 4,787 from Islamabad through 10 flights, 6,795 from Quetta with 22 flights and 6,072 intending pilgrims from Peshawar through 19 flights, 2,618 from Multan with 08 flights and 1,498 intending pilgrims from Sialkot with 03 flights to Saudi Arabia.

The airline’s Pre-Hajj operation of transporting intending Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will conclude on 28 September 2014.
