LAHORE: An air-hostess of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) was caught smuggling gold to New York at Allama Iqbal International airport here on Tuesday.
The customers officials took into custody the air-hostess after she was found smuggling two kilograms of gold. The lady was caught red-handed during New Yorkbound flight PK-721.
The officials said she was currently being investigated. Further details will be released soon.
Couple of years ago, London immigration officials had imposed a fine of 2,000 pounds on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for allowing air-hostess into plane with an expired passport.
The London immigration officials had also arrested an air hostess and issued notice to the PIA for violation of rules. They asked the PIA to strictly ensure complete documentation of all passengers and cabin crew aboard the plane in future.
