LAHORE: A petition was filed in Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court seeking dismissal of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

The petition was filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lawyers Forum’s Gohar Nawaz Sindhu.

It is stated in the petition that Sharif and Nisar told a lie to the nation regarding the role of Pakistan Army in the political crisis of the country therefore the two leaders do not fulfill the requirements prescribed by the Article 62 and 63 of the constitution for a public representative.

The petitioner pleaded to the court to disqualify them from their respective offices.

It should be noted that Lahore High Court (LHC) had already dismissed a similar petition earlier.
