QUETTA: Peshawar Zalmi makes history. After KP, ZML happens in Balochistan. Al Baqarah Strikers defeated Al Iqra Patriots by 10 wickets in the final of ZML 2 and become Champions. Governor Balochistan Justice R. Aman Ullah Khan distributed prizes among the players. Will take ZML to other provinces as well, Javed Afridi.

Pakistan Super League’s number 1 franchise in terms of brand value, Peshawar Zalmi has won hearts all over again. After KP, Zalmi Foundation takes the ZML to Balochistan where it has been a huge success. In the final of ZML 2, Al Baqarah Strikers defeated Al Iqra Patriots by 10 wickets in a sensational encounter and became ZML 2 Champions. Al Iqra batted first and scored 79/7 with Ata Ullah scoring 24 runs & Shabbir Ahmed scoring 13 runs. Strikers bowled beautifully with Nasir Jan picking up 2 wickets for 15 runs and Aurangzeb grabbing a single wicket for 17 runs. img-20181208-wa0001

In reply, Al Baqarah Strikers went off to a great start with Idrees Khan & Shehzad aggressive batting. They chased down the total in 5.4 overs and both were unbeaten. Idrees scored 59* and Shehzad Farid scored 15*. They single-handedly led their side to victory. Idrees was declared man of the match. img-20181208-wa0005

Governor Balochistan Justice R. Aman Ullah Khan distributed the awards and prizes among the players and congratulated Mr. Javed Afridi on the successful execution of ZML 2. He said that this is a great initiative for the Madrasa Students. Javed Afridi in his message said that this journey will continue. The sanctity of these religious institutions along with their upheaval has reached Balochistan and will keep on flourishing in Punjab, Sindh, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir very soon. In this mission of peace, prosperity and patriotism, I, Javed Afridi, thank all the madaris, Balochistan Government, Pak Army and all institutions involved in making the ZML 2 a huge success in Balochistan. Al Baqarah Strikers Muhammad Aurangzeb won the player of the tournament award. Jaffar Ali won the best batsman award and Wazir Khan won the man of the series award. PR
