ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former Prime Minister (PM), Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that there is possibility of general elections during the current year.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Raja Pervez Ashraf said that PM Nawaz Sharif should have tendered resignation when Panama Leaks issue came to surface but he didn’t but now it was a chance for him to save his party and politics by stepping down from his office.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said Joint Investigation Team (JIT) have been constituted now to probe the allegations against the premier and his family, adding the findings of the JIT would be a nightmare for ruling family.
He claimed that the year 2018 will usher in an era of success for PPP when it rule over the country.
The PPP leader said that PM Nawaz Sharif never appeared in the court but held those accountable who even granted grade IV level job to a needy person.
