LAHORE: Due to the considerable growth in the country’s electricity shortage, people are experiencing extreme hardships across the board due to power outages lasting eight to 10 hours.
The country is lacking 6765 megawatts, according to sources with the electricity division, and as a result, consumers are experiencing lengthy power disruptions.
When compared to the supply, which is just 20,235 megawatts, demand has increased to 27,000 megawatts. As a result, there have been power disruptions for eight to ten hours across the nation due to the 6765 MW deficiency.
The sources claimed that government thermal power plants produce 520 MW and hydropower capacity is 8000 MW. The power plants in the private sector are producing 700 MW.
In comparison to solar power plants, which produce electricity at a rate of 120 MW, wind power plants produce electricity at a rate of 1,225 MW.
Moreover, whereas nuclear power plants produce 3,270 MW, 100 MW is produced from bagasse.
