Target killings, extortion, kidnapping for ransom were the routine crimes in the city. A steep decline in the crime rate of the city is being witnessed after the successful operation.

During the meeting, the army chief also praised the intelligence agencies for achieving major breakthroughs. Due to the efforts of law enforcing agencies crime rate in the port city of Pakistan, crime rate has been declined by fifty percent in comparison to the previous last two years. But still a lot more needs to be done to make city peaceful permanently. The threat of militancy and terrorism is very serious and it needs joint efforts by all for its tackling. We as a nation also need to realize that we are fighting against militants and to curb terrorism is a shared responsibility.
