The eagerly awaited crunch tie between Asian giants Pakistan and India is now just days away. The match is predicted to be the most watched cricket game ever according to ICC. The match also presents the Pakistan team an opportunity to end their miserable record against India in the mega event where they have lost on all five previous occasions in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2011.

In the ODI head to head Pakistan maintains a much better record having won 72 of the 126 ties against India’s tally of 50 wins. However Pakistan’s dismal record against India in the World Cup is something that is hard to digest. The upcoming clash is arguably Pakistan’s best ever chance of ending their losing streak.

Former Pakistan great Zaheer Abbas believes that India’s poor form in Australia means that Pakistan can finally emerge victorious in the high stakes match. He added that although Pakistan has a very young side compared to India they have a really good chance.

Chief selector and former wicket keeper Moin Khan also believes that Pakistan has a great chance as India is no more the strong force it used to be. He said that although Pakistan has never defeated India this unfortunate record will not be in the players mind when they take to the field on February the 15th.

All-rounder Shahid Afridi has also expressed his belief that Pakistan can end the India jinx. The star all rounder said that although Pakistan has a shocking record against India in the World Cup there is always a first time for everything and Pakistan are very capable of defeating India.

On the other side of the border, however, former Indian players are expecting another easy win for India. This could only prove to be an added inspiration for the Pakistan players to end India’s monopoly, put a smile on the nations face and give them the bragging rights.
