NEW DELHI: Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has said Pakistan wants to have a normal relationship with India on the basis of mutual respect and mutual interest.
The Pakistan High was addressing the Pakistan Day ceremony in New Delhi on Wednesday; Abdul Basit added that this is necessary not only for promoting bilateral cooperative relations but also regional integration.
The High Commissioner stressed the need for resolution of Kashmir dispute to relations of the two countries on the irreversible trajectory of peace and prosperity.
Earlier in the day, an impressive flag hoisting ceremony was held on the lush green lawns of the Pakistan Mission in New Delhi to commemorate Pakistan Day.
Students of the Pakistan High Commission School sang the national anthem and patriotic songs and presented a tableau highlighting the struggle for the creation of Pakistan.
