Pakistan unearths Indian diplomats role to destabilize county

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security agencies on Wednesday unearthed another network of Indian spies that is involved in terrorism in Pakistan and is being run under auspices of New Delhi’s embassy based in Islamabad.

According to sources, the two diplomats have been identified as Rajesh Kumar Agnihotri and Balbir Singh.

Security sources say the network is second largest in Pakistan after the espionage setup of Kulbhushan Yadav, an Indian national arrested in Balochistan spying for Indian spy agency, RAW.

Balbir Singh, an agent of India’s Intelligence Bureau, is currently working as the First Secretary Press Information at Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad, sources told.

Another man Rajesh Kumar Agnihotri is currently serving as Commercial Consular at the Indian High Commission. According to sources, Agnihotri and Singh are involved in incidents of sabotage and terrorism inside Pakistan.

The government authorities have decided to expel the Indian officials involved in the anti-state activities, sources said.

Sources further revealed that Indian diplomat Surjeet Singh, who was recently expelled from Pakistan after being declared persona non grata, was also part of Balbir Singh’s network.

Pakistan’s foreign secretary had expressed deep concern over the activities of expelled Indian diplomat Surjeet Singh that were in violation of the Vienna Convention.

Pakistan authorities had arrested an Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav in March of 2016 involved in spying agencies in Balochistan.

Yadav was working for Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and was facilitating banned groups in to spread violence in the province and the country, officials said. NNI
