Islamabad: Pakistan should not become a participant in the Yemen conflict and should act as a mediator to resolve the crisis; this was stated by Deputy Secretary General of Milli Yakjehti Council Saqib Akbar while talking exclusively to The Patriot.
He said that Pakistan has already paid a heavy price due to its involvement in conflicts of other countries and must not repeat the same mistake. He added that Pakistan has the position of a leader in the Muslim world and should use this position to resolve the conflict. He said that the Government initially made an emotional decision but appreciated the Prime Minister’s decision to seeking a joint session of Parliament on April 06 to debate the Yemen conflict. He said that women and children are suffering in Yemen due to the air-strikes and asked the Government to send aid to Yemen on humanitarian grounds.
