ISLAMABAD: Pakistan witnessed a major decline in the daily COVID-19 case count as the number of fresh infections dropped to its lowest since December 2021, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data showed on Tuesday morning.

NCOC stats showed that only 378 new COVID-19 cases surfaced in the 29,216 diagnostic tests conducted across the country in the last 24 hours. The decline in the new case count pushed the country’s coronavirus positivity ratio to 1.29%, while the overall case count rose to 1,515,392.

The last time the daily COVID-19 case count dropped this low was on December 29, 2021, when Pakistan logged 348 new cases in a single day.

Meanwhile, nine more people suffering from coronavirus lost their lives, taking the total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country to 30,281 overnight.

Moreover, Pakistan’s active case tally decreased to 29,346 in the last 24 hours after 603 recoveries and the latest additions in the death toll.
