Pakistan reports 34 new deaths, 1, 019 covid cases

ISLAMABAD: As many as 34 more people succumbed to coronavirus and 1,019 new cases emerged during the last 24 hours, showed the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.
According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 34 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 21,723 which represents a ratio of 2.3 percent.
The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan has dropped to 2.59 percent, as 1,019 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 39,214 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 942,189 that returned positive after conducting 13,857,250 total tests so far.
 The number of active cases in the country is 41,726 with 2,676 patients in critical condition.
There were 1,549 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 878,740 with a 93.2% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 139 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the provincial tally to 344,065 with 11,295 active cases. In Punjab, 15 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 10,516. With 375 new recoveries, 322,254 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh has recorded 580 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 328,184 with 23,495 active cases. With 7 new deaths related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 5,243. With 271 new recoveries, 299,446 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 197 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 136,074 with 3,608 active cases. The province reported 8 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 4,224. With 422 new recoveries, 128,242 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 31 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 26,232 with 1,029 active cases. The province reported no new death as the death toll remains 294. With 70 new recoveries, 24, 909 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
 Islamabad has recorded 40 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 82,139 with 1,657 active cases. With one new death reported in the Federal Capital, the death toll reaches 772. With 361 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 79,710 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 27 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 19,783 with 541 active cases. With 3 new deaths reported, the death toll reaches 566. There were 50 new recoveries in the AJK as 18,676 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 5 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached 5,712 with 101 active cases. No new death reported in the province as the death toll remains at 108. There were no new recoveries as the number of patients recovered from the deadly disease remains 5,503. INP
