WASHINGTON: Special Assistant to prime minister on foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi has said that Pakistan has rendered enormous sacrifices in war against terrorism.

Addressing a function at United States Institute of Peace, Fatemi said that Pakistan has achieved several milestones on financial and economic front in last three years.

He said that international community has recognized the government efforts in progress of economic and social progress in tribal areas.

Fatemi said that whole of the world has appreciated Pakistans’ war against terrorism, however, sacrifices rendered by its armed forces and people will  always be remembered.

The SAPM told the US audience that government has overcome energy crisis to a large extent in the last 3 years adding that China Pakistan Economic Corridor will not only bring progress to Pakistan but also ensured prosperity of whole region.

Tariq Fatemi said that Pakistan and the USA have firm relations and both the countries are working in different sectors.

He expressed the hope that the new President Donald Trump will continue to work with Pakistan to maintain close relations. INP
