ISLAMABAD: National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua Friday said Pakistan has offered India to join China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Talking to media persons after a function in Islamabad, Nasser Janjua said the Iranian concerns will be addressed when General Raheel Sharif assumes charge of the Islamic military alliance.
He said Pakistan and its people have great love and affection for Iran and General Raheel Sharif will not do anything, which is against the interests of Iran.
The national security adviser said the appointment of General Raheel Sharif should not be linked with sectarianism.
Earlier, addressing the functions, Janjua said Pakistan was playing a front line role for peace in the world, adding that the country had been offering sacrifices over the past four decades. He further invited India to participate in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
The Adviser said Pak-Afghan border is very complex. He said Afghanistan has destroyed the biometric system at the border.
China announced mega development projects in Pakistan worth $46-billion under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which focuses on road building and energy infrastructure to end chronic power shortages in Pakistan and to link China’s landlocked north-west with the deep-water port Gwadar on the Arabian Sea. Under CPEC, a number of new economic zones will be created along the corridor. NNI
