Islamabad: Anger and anguish persists in public after a website with ‘Pakistan’ in its domain name was found promoting vulgarity. A video that appeared on prominent Pakistani video portal Zem TV recently pointed out that a website (www.dailypakistan.com.pk) is promoting vulgarity by posting questionable and highly offensive material, the said website not only posts despicable, offensive and immoral material on its website but also promotes the ‘offensive and vulgar’ content through its Facebook page. The promotion of such material on Facebook lands this material directly on the Facebook timelines of unsuspecting children who have liked the said page due to ‘Pakistan’ in its name. Parents of many children have voiced there anger on social media upon discovering that a vulgar website using the name ‘Pakistan’ is not only promoting vulgarity, polluting young minds but also trampling the country’s religious and moral values. A large number of parents have also asked relevant government departments to take action against the said website so that children can be saved from exposure to such indecent material. The indecent and vulgar material is of such nature that it cannot even be reproduced here in this story.
Religious figures have also raised their voice against the said website and have demanded the government to put a check on such websites that are spreading vulgarity in our society. A religious leader while talking to Daily The Patriot said that if government can ban Youtube in Pakistan why can’t it ban such vulgar websites that are polluting young minds in the country.
A large number of people also called the offices of Pakistan Group of Newspapers to express there concern on the matter. It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Group of Newspapers has no link whatsoever with the said vulgar website (www.dailypakistan.com.pk), our group has its own code of conduct and no news or material is published that doesn’t adhere to our strictly formulated code of conduct. The code of conduct of our group clearly states that no material will be published that is against Islam, against Pakistan, unethical or against the country’s moral values. We regret that due to similarity in our groups name with the ‘vulgar website’ our name was also tarnished.
