Says all should play role in securing Pakistan from instability
ISLAMABAD: Some elements are trying to destabilize the country just for petty political gains, but despite the conspiracies, Pakistan shall continue on the path of progress and prosperity.
This was stated by Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) head Maulana Fazlur Rahman while talking exclusively in Roze TVs very popular talk show ‘Sachi Baat’ on Tuesday, he said that despite conspiracies Pakistan is destined to achieve development and prosperity.
Editor in Chief Pakistan Group of Newspapers and Chairman Roze News Sardar Khan Niazi asked about nature of alliance of JUI-F with incumbent government , Fazlur Rahman said that his party voted for PML-N candidate Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for the elections of Prime Minister, because he believed that he should not abandon his ally which was going through trying times. He said that now more focus should be on fulfillment of constitutional responsibilities to ensure the continuation of democratic process.
S.K. Niazi asked about the decision of Nawaz Sharif to reach Lahore via GT road, the act many believe is aimed at showing political power, Fazl ur Rahman said that being democratic party, PMLN holds the right to decide going through GT road. He said that Nawaz Sharif believes that he should not have been disqualified so ultimately being a public figure he wants to go to the masses.
Answering a question of S.K. Niazi that why Nawaz Sharif is not revealing the name of conspirators, Fazlur Rahman said that it is up to Nawaz Sharif to disclose the background of any conspiracy, but he believes that due to the previous dictatorships, democratic parties always remain cautious. He said that it is tragic that not a single Prime Minister was able to complete tenure.
He said that some elements are trying to destabilize the country just for petty political gains. Without naming the elements he advised these elements to stop making conspiracies against the democracy and to play their constructive role to strengthen the democratic institutions of the country. He said that there was a mindset working on the agenda of creating chaos in the country, however he expressed the hope that democratic forces would defeat this mindset. He said that many elements were unhappy on progress being observed in many sectors.
While talking about the article 60 and 60 of the constitution he said that there is need to define Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
While talking about the role of media he said that media should play constructive role and try not to influence court proceedings. He said that during the Panamagate proceedings, it seemed that there was also a media court outside the building of Supreme Court. Sardar Khan Niazi said that it was policy of Roze News not to discuss sub judice matters.
Being Kashmir Committee Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Pakistan would continue its efforts for raising the Kashmir issue at international forums to highlight Indian brutality in occupied Kashmir. He urged the international community to play its due role in the implementation of United Nations resolutions regarding the Kashmir issue. He said peace in South Asia was linked with settlement of the Kashmir dispute. “The way to peace in the entire region passes through Kashmir.” He said that there is also need to have better foreign policy in context with Kashmir issue.
While talking about Fata reforms he said that issues of FATA must be resolved according to aspirations and wishes of local people. Maulana Fazlur Rahman spent almost three hours in Roze News and in Pakistan Group of Newspapers; this interview was one of the longest interviews of S.K.Niazi for ‘Sachi Baat’.
