Pakistan Day

Today Pakistan Day is being celebrated with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and determination to strive harder for the country’s prosperity, peace, security and stability.

The day will dawn with 21-gun salute in the federal capital and 19-gun salute in provincial capitals. It is a public holiday and national flag will be hoisted on major government buildings. Various political, social, religious, educational and other organizations have arranged functions to highlight importance of Pakistan Resolution that paved the way for the creation of an independent homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. An investiture ceremony will be held at Aiwan-e-Sadar where President Mamnoon Hussain will confer awards and medals on different people for their outstanding performance in different fields.

On 23rd March 1940 Muslims of subcontinent irreversibly resolved to seek their own independent Muslim state. Their revered Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah declared that Muslims of South Asia were an independent nation by any definition. He led them to wage a struggle for a state based on principles of social justice, self-determination and equality. Firm commitment of the Quaid wholeheartedly backed by the Muslim nation ultimately succeeded in carving out an independent homeland. The Quaid bequeathed to his people the Promised Land with the exhortation to preserve and protect it for future generations. The main event of the day will be Pakistan Day military parade after a gap of seven years. The commendable decision to hold the military parade after such a long gap shows the determination of the nation and particularly of the armed forces to eliminate terrorist elements from our beloved homeland.

Pakistan is fighting a successful war to eliminate the terrorists from its soil. By organizing the military parade we would give a thumping answer to all the anti-state elements that we are a nation with the capability to deal with the terrorists.
