Pakistan cricket is dying: Shoaib Akhtar

Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has said that he has been raising his concerns regarding the structure of Pakistan cricket for many years. The pacer said that Pakistan cricket is dying.

Akhtar said that the poor performance of Pakistan cricket is actually a complete failure of the system. He also said that living legends of Pakistan cricket have not played there part in the betterment of cricket in the country. He also said that he feels he has himself failed to inspire young cricketers in the country.

Akhtar who has been criticized for having a go at current captain Misbah ul Haq after the defeat against West Indies said that he only criticized Misbah because he believes that he is capable of leading the team but for that he needs to take brave decisions. The pacer also labeled Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood as modern day Afridi’s, saying that they only know how to smash the ball and have no clue on how to build a proper innings.
