Pakistan-China economic corridor to change fate of region: Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that friendship with China is an important pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

Talking to a delegation of China Three Gorges Corporation in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said Pakistan-China economic corridor would change fate of the region.

Mamnoon Hussain stressed the need for early initiation of infrastructure and energy projects during the current year.

Earlier, addressing the international conference in Islamabad today, the president called upon religious scholars to promote teachings of mystic saints to purge the country of militancy and sectarianism.

He said the lives of great Sufi saints such as Shah Rukn-e-Alam are a beacon of light for us and we can free the society of all evils including oppression and bloodshed.

All the saints preached the message of love, peace, brotherhood and tolerance to ensure peace in the society.

In his remarks, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf highlighted the services of Sufi saints for spread of Islam. He said the country can be turned into a cradle of peace by practicing the teachings of saints.
