Pakistan, Bahrain to upgrade parliamentary, political & economic ties’

ISLAMABAD (INP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called on His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, according to a message received from Bahrain. H.M. the King received at Al-Sakhir Palace Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who conveyed greetings from Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, wishing Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.

 

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq termed relations between the two sides as historic and unique. He said that Bahrain is the closest friend and ally to the Pakistan. He said that existing relations would be strengthened in days to come and cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain would be further diversified for mutual benefit of both the nations. He remarked that a regular exchange of high level visits would play an important role in further strengthening relations.

 

The King stressed the importance of exchanging visits and meetings between parliamentary delegations to expand joint cooperation between the two friendly countries. He recalled his recent successful visit to Pakistan, which yielded positive and fruitful results that bolstered fraternal relations and expanded joint cooperation. He also emphasized that the relation between Bahrain and Pakistan stretch back into century. His Majesty the King informed the Speaker that during 1930s the Bahraini people utilized the legal expertise of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad in handling a legal dispute with the British authorities.  He also reviewed with Pakistan National Assembly Speaker regional and international developments and extended greetings to President Hussain and Prime Minister Sharif, wishing the friendly Pakistani people further progress and prosperity.

 

Earlier the Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called on Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa at the Gudaibiya Palace. During their meeting both the leaders expressed satisfaction at the status of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bahrain. The Speaker underlined the need for enhancing investment and economic cooperation between the two countries. He also stressed enhanced exchange of parliamentary delegations for strengthening ties between the two countries. Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa said that Bahrain strongly desires to see a prosperous, stable and economically vibrant Pakistan. He said that Bahrain will extend all-out support to Pakistan in diverse fields.
