Pak Steel Mills not being privatized: Khurram Dastgir

ISLAMABAD (INP): Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan Tuesday told the Senate during question hour that Pakistan Steel Mills is not included in the present list of entities which are being privatized. He said the government is providing billions of rupees to the institutions running in deficit.

To a question, the Minister said that recruitment in the National Bank will be made according to quota and rules when the ban on recruitment was lifted. He said National Bank in Pakistan achieved nine billion rupees less revenue against the previous years. He said the matter is being investigated.

The Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid told the House that a draft of Pakistan Halal Authority Act, 2014 has been submitted to the Cabinet for approval. He said Pakistan Halal Authority will be established under the act which will promote trade of Halal commodities with other countries.
