Pak-Norway bilateral trade and investment to be further boosted: Ambassador

KARACHI: The Ambassador of Norway Leif H Larsen has said that Pakistan and Norway enjoy close and warm relations, and efforts would be taken to further boost the bilateral trade and investment between the two friendly countries.

He was talking during a meeting with Rashid Ahmed Siddiqui of Diplomatic Call International and Afeef Group at his residence. He said that we have always taken steps to promote the brotherly relations with Pakistan. He said we are investing in Pakistan in telecommunication sector and interested in power generation and other sectors.

The Ambassador said trade and investment has got the position of backbone in economy of any country. He said we want to increase imports and exports between the both nations. He said Norway is a beautiful country with a lot of tourist spots. He said tourists come to Norway from all over the world. Rashid Siddiqui, talking on the occasion, said there are vast opportunities of investment in Pakistan, especially in the sectors of telecommunication, power generation, engineering and infrastructure.

He said with the exchange of trade delegation between Pakistan and Norway new doors of commerce, trade and investment would open in both the countries. He invited the investors of Norway to come to Pakistan and invest in different sectors. He said it also needs to increase the volume of bilateral trade. He said the industrial exhibitions play an important role in booting commerce and the traders get opportunity to get their products introduced in other countries. Afeef Rashid, Syed Farukh Mazhar, Rafiq Rangoonwalla, Muhammad Asif and others were present.
