Pak Army to ensure writ of the state in Bajaur, NWA: DG ISPR

LONDON, Jan 16 (INP): Director General (DG) Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa has reiterated the Pakistan Army’s resolve to wipe out menace of terrorism and extremism from Bajaur and North Waziristan Agency (NWA) for ensuring writ of the state in the troubled tribal agencies.

Addressing a think-tank of Royal United Services Institute in the United Kingdom (UK) Maj Gen Asim Bajwa said that effective military operations are under way in these agencies to purge the areas of terrorists.

He informed the security forces have so far killed 2,000 terrorists in NWA while 200 soldiers embraced martyrdom in the operation Zarb-e-Azb and 800 others sustained injuries.

DG ISPR said Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has clearly directed to carry out operation against terrorists without any discrimination.
