KARACHI: Pak-American Trade Expo to be held at National Convention Center Washington DC, with slogan ‘Trade, not Aid’ would further augment the trade relations of Pakistan and United States of America, said Hassan Jalil, CEO Vision Media Group LLC here.

Addressing a press briefing at a local hotel, he said the five-day Pak-American Trade Expo would be held from May 23-27, 2015, in which more than 200 Pakistani traders and industrialists would participate. The event would particularly boost Pakistani culture, natural beauty and trade. It would comprise food court, live mega concert, and fashion show. He said the event is aimed at to further promote Pak-USA trade ties.

Noted industrialist Mian Zahid Hussain said there is dire need to improve the soft image of Pakistan. It requires constant efforts to open the lucrative US market for the Pakistani products. He said due to terrorism and under-invoicing the image of Pakistan is hurt at global level and efforts are needed to salvage and improve it.

Aijaz Rai said that Sialkot has got a basic status in promoting Pakistani exports. He said it needs introducing modern technology to boost exports. He gave the example of Germany which is a huge manufacture of goods due to its superior technology.

Abdul Haseeb Khan said with boosting trade ties and general relations between Pakistan and United States of America could be further enhanced, he said these both friendly countries should be made even closer with better trade ties.

Rashid Siddiqui said the success of the proposed event would improve Pakistan economy and Pakistani goods would get their proper place in the US market.

Ahmed Shah said the Pakistani cotton, leather and marble have immense demand in the global market and these sectors need a serious attention. He said the proposed expo would increase the demand of Pakistani goods.
