Overseas Pakistanis children provided 359 scholarships

ISLAMABAD (NNI): Around 359 children of Overseas Pakistanis from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have benefitted under Merit Awards and Needy Scholarship programme launched by Overseas Pakistanis Foundation.

The OPF, which has taken many steps for welfare of Overseas Pakistanis during last five years, has announced that Vocational Training Center at Peshawar has been revived last year to impart training to youth from KPK and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and ensured training to 87 students.

Moreover, the OPF also provided financial assistance of Rs. 2.85 million to 190 destitute families of Overseas Pakistanis from KPK during the period while free eye medical camps were organized in Overseas Pakistanis concentration areas i.e. Swabi, Haripur, Besham, Swat and Baffa wherein over 7000 patients were treated.

The construction of OPF Public School’s Building Budhani Road, Peshawar has also been completed while construction of OPF School Building at Hangu is in progress. Three seats are annually reserved for children of Overseas Pakistanis of KPK including one in Khyber Medical College and two in Ayub Medical College.
