PESHAWAR/ QUETTA: More than 170 suspects including four Afghans were arrested during search operations carried out in different parts ofPeshawar and Quetta on Friday.
According to police sources, at least 110 suspected people including four afghan citizens were arrested during search operation in the various area of Peshawar
A police spokesperson said that Police held around 82 suspected people from areas including Yakah Toot and Wazir Bagh, while 32 suspects including 4 Afghans,who are illegally residing in Peshawar were also arrested from Tehkal,University Town and Gulberg areas of the city.
The security forces also recovered pistols and its cartridges from the arrested. The arrested suspects were shifted to an undisclosed place for investigation.
A police spokesperson said police teams were now interrogating the suspects. He said they were arrested over their failure to produce any identity documents.
Operations DIG Haider Ashraf said the operation would continue for as long as the Zimbabwean cricket team was in the country.
Meanwhile, Police claimed to have arrested more than 60 suspected persons during a search operation in different areas of Quetta.
According to the police, the raids were conducted after receiving information about presence of the criminals.
The arrested persons were shifted to unknown locations for further interrogation.
