Hollywood actress Cynthia Nixon has once again raised her voice in favor of the oppressed people of Palestine, calling on the US government to stop supplying weapons to Israel. The actress expressed her deep sorrow over the atrocities in Gaza in her recent Instagram post.
The 58-year-old actress wrote on her Instagram, “44 percent of those killed by the right-wing Israeli government in Gaza are children and infants, as revealed in an in-depth analysis by the United Nations. Contact your US senator and tell them to stop sending weapons to Israel, which are being used to kill innocent civilians. This is a clear violation of US and international law.”
She reminded her followers that on Wednesday, the Senate voted for the first time in history to stop supplying weapons to Israel. She appealed, “Tell your senator that our tax money should be used to save lives, not to kill.”
The actress continues her struggle for the oppressed people of Gaza. Last year, she went on a hunger strike for a ceasefire and criticized the Biden administration, saying, “Biden, you are starving Gaza, immediately cease fire.”
She recalled that in September she was part of an open letter with 700 other Hollywood figures, including Mark Ruffalo and Riz Ahmed, supporting those who speak out for the Palestinians and condemning the ongoing “McCarthyist oppression” against them.
