ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that all those “begging for power” will have to wait for the next general elections.
He made the statement while chairing a high profile meeting in Islamabad. The prime minister was optimistic about emerging victorious in the Panamagate Case. The opposition will not gain anything from the case.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presided over a meeting with federal ministers and legal advisors following three-judge bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan reserved verdict of Panama Implementation case.
The sources said different names are being discussed for the slot of Prime Minister in case Nawaz Sharif is disqualified in the Panama case ruling.
The matter of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar’s absence was also discussed in the high-profile meeting. He termed the interior minister as “Mard-e-Bohran” (the man of crisis).
Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif is also in the meeting being held at Prime Minister House.
Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has been tasked to woo Nisar.
It is important to note here that Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan did not show up to attend the meeting. The sources said PM Nawaz wanted him to be persuaded into attending Friday’s meeting; however, he could not be convinced.
The legal team briefed the participants about the proceedings of the high-profile case that was wrapped up this afternoon. NNI
