Lahore: Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party (PJDP) Chief and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that Punjab Government is using delay tactics regarding the issue of operation against terrorists in the province. The former Chief Justice of Pakistan was speaking exclusively to Roze News and Pakistan Group of Newspapers here on Saturday after inquiring about the health of the injured in Sunday’s deadly Lahore park blast that left at least 72 dead and hundreds injured.
The Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party (PJDP) chief said that the time has come that a thorough operation is conducted in Punjab like it is being conducted in other provinces. He said that operation in Punjab is of paramount importance to rid the province of menace of terrorism.
Iftikhar Chaudhry also lamented the poor condition of hospitals in Punjab’s provincial capital and said that there is no system and patients seem to be on their own. He added that he was left shocked at the condition of the hospital’s emergency. The former Chief Justice of Pakistan recommended that in such a situation when hospitals are over burdened help should be sought from the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and private hospitals.
The PJDP chief further said that his party doesn’t believe in criticism for the sake of criticism but believes in presenting a solution to the persisting problems.
