On July 25, 2018 the people of Pakistan will elect a new government with their votes, Election Commission of Pakistan is committed to conduct election on due date since Secretary Election Commission Babar Yaqoob  claims that equal level-playing is being provided to all the political parties in their election campaign to ensure free, fair and transparent elections on July 25.

Meanwhile Pakistan Army also announced to deploy more than 3,71,000 troops to polling stations across the country to ensure free, fair and transparent general elections on 25 July. On the other hand all political Parties are busy in election campaign for the upcoming General Election where rallies, corner meetings and public gatherings are on its peak.

A few days earlier than election environment surfaced in Pakistan South Asia Terrorism Portal’s (SATP) reported that losses relating to terrorist attacks in Pakistan have declined significantly over the number of deaths has decreased by 30 percent in 2017 as compared to 2016 and have decreased by over 89% by 2017.

However, once again the ‘wild Boars’ terrorism appears and hits the political environment four times in only seven days, resulted in the killings of hundreds of  innocent lives including the emerging leaders of Pakistan Haroon Bilour, Nawabzada Siraj Raisani. It had been reported that terrorists could target the public rallies during the election campaigns. Now the warnings are turning into reality as in few days many terrorist incidents have been reported when militants targeted the public rallies and killed innocent people.

Due to sacrifices of Pakistan armed forces country has defeated the monster of terror and there is no second opinion that intensity of terrorist activities has reduced manifold. But it is also a harsh reality that terrorism has not been completely eliminated and recent terrorist activities reflect this fact. In such a scenario when general elections are hardly couple of weeks ahead, law enforcing agencies have ample task to make sure security of innocent people. It is easy to fight terrorists in the battle field, but as they are targeting innocent people in the cities, only intelligence based preemptive operations can halt heinous plans of terrorists of attacking soft targets that are public places.

Unexpected rise in terrorist activities just before the general elections is alarming.
