Ombudsman redresses public grievances fairly, after examining facts’

ZHOB: Regional Director Provincial Ombudsman Altaf Jaffar has said that the Ombudsman is an institution in the administrative setup to curb and combat mal-administration, mitigate masses grievances and provide them free, timely and speedy justice.

Jaffar, who was speaking at a consultative seminar on the role and services of Provincial Ombudsman in collaboration with US-Aid and organized by Society for Human and Development SHAD, held at assembly hall here on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Zhob Nazar Muhammad Khetran, Deputy Commissioner Sherani Kamran Ibrahim, Assistant Commissioner Ali Asghar, Program Manager Paind Gul Mandokhail and head of departments in a large number attended the seminar.

President SHAD Qazi Tahir Naeem highlighted the role of Ombudsman in fostering the cause of good governance.

Regional Director said our vision is to promote high standards of governance, accountability and efficiency through administrative justice and our mission is to redress public grievances in fair, prompt and transparent manners. He added.

A complaint with the Mohtasib can be lodged personally, by mail, online, fax or by telephone at provincial and regional offices. The complaint must contain full facts regarding violation of rights, mal-administration or negligence by an agency, adding an independent complaints handling service is free of cost and open to everyone round the clock.

“After examining all facts we redress public grievances”. He said.

DC Nazar Khetran while addressing on the occasion stressed the need of self-judgment saying that the government officials should perform their duties and responsibilities with honesty and devotion. He said.

“A spirit of public service and determination is must to come up to the people’s expectations. There is a need for the institutional reforms for achieving the target”. Khetran said.
