Islamabad: A delegation of Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat headed by M. Salman Faruqui, Wafaqi Mohtasib-i-Aala, called on Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali at the Supreme Court here on Tuesday and presented reports on prisons, police stations and pension issues complied by the Federal Ombudsman under the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in different cases.
Salman Faruqui briefed Chief Justice about the reports finalized after the considerable deliberations. These reports identify maladministration and systemic failures and also suggest ways and means to bring improvements for the effective and smooth functioning of the institutions so that the grievances of public at large could be redressed expeditiously.
He also briefed the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan about the future roadmap of the institution by establishing setup at District level to provide relief to the people.
The Chief Justice welcomed the delegates and appreciated the efforts of the Federal Ombudsman for compiling such extensive and organized reports highlighting issues and extending suggestions for their solution and he hoped that Federal Ombudsman will be working with same zeal for the betterment of the country.
He also assured of support to institution of Federal Ombudsman for redressal of the grievances of general public.
