Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday denounced opposition parties for what he described as negative politics regarding Panama Leaks.
Speaking to media persons aboard the plane, Prime Minister Sharif said that opposition parties have resorted to negative politics, which had proved poisonous for the country in the past.
“It is our desire that Chief Justice set up a commission to investigate the Panama Leaks,” he said, adding that he would respond to all the allegations in the commission.
“Opposition cannot demand any answers from me nor any politician should try to become the commission himself,” he said.
The prime minister said that Nawaz Sharif was the prime target of opposition on the Panama Leaks issue.
The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the aim of Opposition is to stop him and not to curb corruption.
He said: “I would discuss only the things that needed to be discussed in the parliament while those to be discussed before commission would only be discussed before the commission.”
He said that he was determined to appear before the commission to answer the allegations over Panama Leaks and wished that Chief Justice of Pakistan sets up the judicial commission as early as possible.
Without naming Imran Khan, he said he never accepted me as Prime Minister, although he visited him to inquire his health when he was admitted in the hospital.
Nawaz Sharif said that his government would consider the recommendations of getting Panama Papers to be investigated by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
